Harry Arter has revealed that his partner Rachel is 22 weeks pregnant.
The couple’s baby Renee was stillborn in December.
Arter produced a man of the match performance in Bournemouth’s 2-1 win over Manchester United just days after the tragedy.
The 26 year old starred in midfield, and was visibly emotional when he was replaced after 86 minutes.
“He handled himself with real dignity throughout the process, and to play the way he did today, with the emotions running through his body, I can’t credit him enough for that,” his Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe said at the time.
The Irish international confirmed the good news during an appearance on Football Focus yesterday.
“I had a lot of people message me and say how thankful they were that I came out and spoke about things,” he said.
“If I can help one person feel 1% better, I would speak all day about it.”
