WATCH: Alan Browne and Callum Robinson score for Preston

Alan Browne and Callum Robinson both scored as Preston beat Brentford 4-3 last night.

Republic of Ireland midfielder Browne scored the hosts’ first goal, and Robinson scored in each half to take his league tally for the season to six.

Browne opened the scoring in just the fifth minute from close range, and Robinson doubled the home side’s lead with an excellent low volley seven minutes later at Deepdale.

Tom Barkhuizen made it 3-0 in just the 23rd minute after Browne’s stepover from a free kick, before Sergi Canos scored a stunning goal for Brentford before the half hour mark.

Ollie Watkins grabbed the visitors’ second after the break, but Robinson restored Preston’s two goal cushion in the 69th minute.

Brentford’s Neal Maupay found the net with five minutes to go to set up a nervy finish, but Preston held on for all three points.

Sean Maguire came off the bench in the dying minutes for Preston, while his international teammate Alan Judge came off the bench for Brentford with just under 15 minutes remaining.

The win moves Preston up to 19th in the Championship table, and one point clear of the relegation zone after 14 matches.
