Go Green on November 15 – Republic of Ireland v Estonia
Since its formation on YBIG.ie two weeks ago, the Go Green on November 15 campaign has gone from strength-to-strength. The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has pledged their allegiance to the campaign while mobile communications company 3 have come on-board to provide 50,000 green cards which will be used as a colour display inside Lansdowne Road Stadium.
The Go Green on November 15 Facebook & Twitter page is gaining momentum by the hour, largely thanks to the Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni who issued this statement “Our fans have stuck with us throughout this campaign, so we hope that they will stand shoulder to shoulder with us as the team line out on November 15. The atmosphere in Aviva Stadium will be great, but we would like everyone to Go Green on November 15 to show their support for the team”.
Irish football fans have a proud history and are widely recognised as one of the most passionate sides in world football. As much as we’d like to welcome our visitors, we want every matchday goer to ensure that the opposition and their travelling fans are pinned to their heels and disheartened by the sheer volume and loudness of our support, so we urge everyone in attendance to Go Green on November 15, maintain an electric atmosphere until the final whistle and carry the Republic of Ireland to their destination – next summer’s Euro 2012 Finals in Poland and the Ukraine.
