Thats a really good idea, i would have no bother buying a few, maybe people could even give a donation without buying the jerseys, to get a giant top done, with or with out the sponsor but???
The big man from donegal has set it up...

yeah will try sort out some ybig jerseys (like the ones in prague) + will get number 12 on the back and keep going with the match fixture (away games) on the front beside ybig.
Problem with getting something like the 88 jersey is that they cost a bomb as replicas so wouldnt be a go-er. Will defo sort something over next few days.

Would be great to get the old number design though (like euro88 jersey)

Agree with this lads, great idea.  You could always set up a shop on ebay to sell them through and have a pull out advert in the fanzine to promote or take orders through.

As for the big shirt flag idea, definitely think that some sponsors could be engaged on this, or individual donors.

Its all about fundraising the money though lads, and it takes a fair bit of responsibility to organise this.  Unfortunately, Some people will think your only trying to make money out of it, so maybe worth finding out what different branches of supporters clubs think of the idea.

In the London club for example, we do a lot of our own merchandise which is popular, polo shirts, scarfs, badges etc and its reasonably priced (ie. not much profit), but as far as getting a club flag etc, it never came off as no one was keen to be stuck with it at matches.  Most of us have our own flags if that way inclined.

Also need to be careful the FAI don't jump on the bandwagon with this quality idea to get some better publicity for them.

We should defo start looking into this and maybe invest in the big flags the Ultras have at EL games.

This is very doable
A bit of sponsorship, and use the Star to promote the t shirts and the idea.
Set up a pay pal yoke on the web site and people can get buying t shirts.

Umbro or O'Neill's could supply the merchanldise free of cost and we give them a couple of ads free of cost

like the idea of the flags as well. they ad a bit of much needed colour to the stadium. i know we dont want the fai jumping on the "bandwagon" but we might have to sit down with them and explain the flag idea and a possible singing section for the new lansdowne.....worst they can say is no

one other thought, but i remember either reading (or seeing) a documentary on the ultras group  of real madrid. Seems like they had the run of the place at the bernabeau. They were allowed store their flags and other "regalia" in a storage area at the stadium - and just retrieve them at match day. Wonder if the FAI would be as accommodating!! - long shot I know, but it would solve your issue of lugging a massive flag or banner around for every home game!!. Then for every away game, they could ship it away for ya for convenient pick up in some foreign land on game day (you know, like they did so efficiently with those footballs in Saipan!).

National Whiner's Day is on December 26th, the day after Christmas. It's supposed to encourage people to be grateful for what they already have

A lot of the Ultras in the EL store them in their respective stadiums as far as i know.

If the FAI say know to the fans storing flags in a room in the new Lansdowne Road, then that is a new low, EVEN FOR THEM
