Biggest probl Gav was its was the onlly place I have been to where they did not want us there.  A few lads got a bit of hassle.  I did not have any hassle but its a drab city where the people do not like to do business. There is a reason why the Czechs have prospred since the Velvet Revolution and the Slovaks have not.  Its called enterprise and hard work and customer service and I am not great fan of total free  market capitalism but it seems the Slovaks have hung on to the culture of communism.

I lived with a Slovak girl though and she was love, if a bit kooky, (is that a word)

Anyone been to Budapest,  never been and would not mind a night there instead of Vienna, as I have done Vienna and its only ok, a bit boring and I think the Austrians are a bit like what the Germans are supposed to be like.

bratislava is just drab but i had good fun there despite the best efforts of the locals (they are juts miserable, dont know how to laugh).

The karaoke dungeon (a karaoke bar under a load of houses, not its real name) and the argentinian steak house by the danube will defo be hit. beer is dirt cheap there - about a euro a scoop. AVOID THE DUBLINER - soviet robocops on the door who were really unfriendly and kicked the crap out of people for singing.

Won't be going back to Bratislava............unfriendly to the point of hostile locals who defo didn't want us there and bouncers in bars (not only the poxy Irish bar) are thugs.  I know we need and get support on the away legs, but if I could do a 1 day special for this I'd do it.  Horrible place.

Are they hostile in Bratislava? Seems like the only place I could realistically go along with Andorra.

My own experience is that they are not the friendliest, could do with popping some happy pills, but I didnt witness any open hostility

We had no hassle from them but there was just a bad vibe throughout the city that we werent wanted there by the local. I seen some irish lad on the way to nightclub walking along the street with blood pumping from his head, said he had been attacked by local. I defo wouldnt walk around the place on me own.

The centre is like temple bar, it's quite nice. but outside this area is an absolute kip.

The local irish bar was being run by the mafia when we were there. Most ignorant bar staff, all locals. They had gangsters on the door acting as bouncers; you could sense that these lads were only dying for excuse to batter us. No singing allowed the night we were there. when we went to prague, wales came to town and apparently their fans got a hiding as they wouldnt stop singing...

I'll go back, but i wont be staying for than a 2 nights. might even stay in vienna.

At the fixtures meeting, does each nation have to indicate where the matches will be held? I doubt they do, and I know its fairly obvious for most, but would be handy nonetheless.
