I was expecting as much. Great servant but is past it and he won't be international standard by the Euros.

It was in the Irish NOTW. They dont have a website based for the Irish version of the paper. Page 81 by Chief Sports writer Garry Doyle. Headline "Kil-ed Off! Trap got Brady to break bad news on phone". It pretty much gets a whole page so im not typing it out.

Very disappointed in you count

looks like killer has played his last game alright.  I would just like to say thanks a million for all your efforts Kev.  Youve been a great servant. Pity some other players dont have the desire that killer had to play for his country.  A1 legend!

its understandable but i'm sad cause he is a legend and deserves more then a poxy call from brady.i think honestly he should be in the squad to offer advice to the new lads comin thru.obviously he's not the player he used to be but still think he has alot to offer.....

disagree, does noone any good letting lads linger around the place, he had a shocking campaign, got his 102 caps, should have just retired..im sure he will get a testimonial, deserves that much

Confused

Are you serious. He's been a great servant to the green jersey but he was at fault for goals conceded at home and away against Bulgaria when he was caught out.

Disagree Mick, is it not better he got a phone call in proper English than a pigeon English call from Trap or Marco?   Many players in the past have not even got a poxy phone call in fairness.  We love Killer for his honesty and desire and passsion, he had some good games, he had some shockers, but time waits for no man, it's his time to step aside.  Thanks Kev, thanks a mil. Clap

He was class in paris, was heavily involved in the goal, for feck sake!

Also no point getting rid of him until we have a replacement, hopefully Ward or O'Dea will be given a shot

Stephen Ward has to be our next left back. He's playing well week in week out for Wolves. If it was up to me though I would keep Kilbane in the squad as he would provide reliable cover at left back and would be useful to have around the younger players. Darren O'Dea will be lucky to make the squad IMO.

In fairness, the way the story had it was that he wouldn't be picked for now and they'd revisit it after looking at the younger players before competitive games. I'd like to see him in the squad but we've got to look to Ward for the starting slot for the campaign, Kilbane would be good to have around the squad though but we'll have to see how he's looking come September.
